I couldn’t be happier that sequins are absolutely everywhere this season. I love them, they are super luxe and super 70’s, in a Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface kind of way.
So distressed am I that I wasn’t able to find a pic of her looking like the ice queen she was in this movie, while wearing sequins, I’m posting these too, with no sequins but you totally get the look.
Here she is as Elvira at her exquisite best…
But it is sequins that we’re looking at and furthermore, this seasons sequins. It seems that all over Europe these tiny circles of shiny metal are twinkling their way along the red carpet; Elizabeth Banks wore this amazing navy sequined full-length Andrew Gn (AW09) gown at Cannes this week, imagine wearing a gown that exactly matches the colour of your eyes, lucky devil!
While the 17th annual Life Ball in Vienna was the campest fancy dress party of the season and the guests were positively swimming in them. The theme for the evening was an aquatic one so excuse the pun, but everyone really was wearing them.
Clockwise from Top Left: Pamela Anderson (in amazing gold Vivienne Westwood?) with E-Normous hair , US, German model Toni Garrn, Katy Perry who performed at the event and US model / publishing heiress Lydia Hearst who wore a super-cute auqua marine leotard, all camped it up and rocked extreme sequins.
Unfortunately for us, pieces covered in sequins don’t come super cheap, but there are a number of smaller pieces on the high street that can give you that sparkle and glamour without having to splurge.
