This season shoulders are big news. From circles to huge pads to ruffle details to feathers, shoulders were barging their way up and down the catwalks in shows for both SS09 and Fall / AW09. From Italian designer Francesco Scognamiglio’s feather shoulder pads SS09:

How to get from the catwalk to the sidewalk? I love this style and i just had to get me some of that trend… read on to see how I did
I went to The Woollen Mills trimmings department and bought a meter of black marabou feather trim €11.90 and a ribbed button vest top from Penney’s €4 and set to work.
I wanted a top that I would be able to wear either with jeans for a quirky casual look or with long black trousers, Givenchy style, for an on-trend evening look.
I cut the trim into three sections, stitched each piece along the left hand shoulder of the vest top and to keep the ends neat, I turned them under as I stitched to give a neat finish.
I was really pleased with the results.
