To rip or not to rip… Acid Wash Denim

Acid wash denim is back and it’s the latest way to update your casual wardrobe. So on-trend in fact that Balmain’s €1,190 version is completely sold out on net-a-porter as I type. But every fashion house is doing their own version, from the high street to designer denim you will be able to find a pair that fits you exactly (if they haven’t sold out!). I just bought these from a|wear, they are 2% elastane so they are slightly stretchy, plus they are super long so they bunch up really nicely around the ankles which looks great.

The thing is, not only is acid wash denim the most on-trend jean style but there is for spring there is an even more on-trend way to wear them too. And that is ripped, scuffed, shredded and generally made to look like they are on their last legs, (pun intended!). High end denim brand j Brand jeans have released this pair this season, which are incredible…

So I have to decide whether to rip or not to rip. What I mean is because I can’t afford the j brand ones, I could attack the a|wear pair I bought with some scissors and a cheese grater which I’m sorely tempted to do, the problem is that

1. I could make a complete pigs ear of it or

2. I could make a complete silk purse out of it…

Hmmm, decisions decisions…

Do it. At €25 a pair for the a wear version, you can afford to make a mistake. Which, I don’t think you will. :p
