Summer Straw Trilby

After blogging about summer hats last month i set my sights on making sure I found the perfect one for my summer in Dublin I found a super cheap one in Claire’s Accessories on Westmoreland Street that was in the sale for €7! I didn’t like the trim around it though but I came up with the perfect solution… I raided the tie rack at the Irish Cancer Society shop on Camden Street Lower and found a silk blue and beige stripey tie. Very boating chic. I removed the bland band from the Trilby, tied a bow in the tie, wrapped it around the hat and stitched it in place. Result; new chic summer headwear, perfect for festival or regatta alike!

The Aussies Know Swimwear

This week saw Australia’s Gold Coast Fashion Show 2009 and it was all about the swimwear. Coming from a country whose population live for the beach, this swimwear catwalk really matters and it seems one-piece swim suits in all shades of blue, from indigo to aqua marine, are all the rage in Oz.

They may all be blue but they each have embellishments that give them something different. Top left, the embroidery detailing makes this one piece look high end; top right, I love the silver trim on this suit, it’s so feminine. middle left has gorgeous rouching and I love the way the neck strap is passed through the neck line, bottom right is for the body confident and the gathered detailing makes this a gorgeous and revealing one piece.

Summer 09 trend…How to Wear Jumpsuits…

Recent months have seen celebs encouraging the trend for jumpsuits / one-piece suits, not only on a day-to-day basis but on special occasions and especially on the red carpet. I reckon if you haven’t already indulged in a jumpsuit, then this summer is the perfect time to step in to one.
