Fallen Leaves and Smoking Jackets

What-ho all,

Sorry about the greeting, I’ve been watching Jeeves & Wooster (Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie) and as usual got  randomly inspired. This time it was Bertie Wooster’s smoking jackets/ gentleman’s dressing gowns. Cue raiding shops ’till I found one, and wait a moment, it’s paisley and vintage!

Then there was a weather issue. ‘What’s that Mr. Weather man? A hurricane you say?’ Right-e-o, best get out there and take a few snaps before all the pretty leaves are blown off these autumn trees then.

Think the eye make-up was inspired by a slightly later era though, 60′s in fact. It took absolutely ages, I went through about 6 face wipes and after about an hour it ended up all smudged. But hey, practise makes perfect right?

The dress is from Oasis; it has gorgeous full-length sheer sleeves with button-up cuffs. It did have a bit of a frill along the bottom, which I cut off as soon as I bought it. I wanted to give it a bit more of a 60′s feel and I much prefer it that way too.

Hold on… Tights

OR: Because tights shouldn’t always be 60 denier and plain black…

Hey All,

Don’t you agree, there’s no better way to improve a Monday morning than by receiving some yum online purchases through the post? (I ordered this little lot last Tuesday evening from tightsplease.co.uk). Yes, I’ve been on-line shopping but, I’m delighted with the fact that for less than €100 I have managed to overhaul my winter wardrobe this effectively. They are actually all tights… I kind of splurged on the Wolford pair but I was completely obsessed with them… I’d already fallen in love with Henry Holland for Pretty Polly so that pair was a simple choice; plus I ordered two pairs of Red or Dead tights, I’ve never worn them before so I’m pretty keen to see what they’re like too.

An Irish Blogger in London

Hey All,

OR: The Day we (only just) caught the Train…

This week I went to visit mates in London and go party at the Notting Hill Carnival and in Camden; One of my favourite parts of London. Anyway I wore an amazing vintage leather and fur coat (circa 1968), DIY-distressed shorts, mock stockings, suede KG boots and loads of vintage accessories. Which was great fun when I was running through King’s Cross Station for the last train home…

These photographs were taken as the light was fading, I love how any movement gets blurred in the shots. It represents London perfectly; if you stop for a second the city just carries on regardless.
