I just wanted to say how much I love this dress… I love the ‘Autumn Leaves’ print, the 3/4 sleeves, the tiered skirt, the scoop neck and the wrap around studded belt. It’s all fabulous.

Lace has threatened a huge come back for the last few seasons and it seems it has achieved just that for AW09. Chanel’s AW09 collection went lace-tastic with tights, gloves and veils accessorising their classic skirt-suits, creating a sexy, feminine look.
Of course this look is fabulous and were I able to wear Chanel suits I would definitely be wearing lace tights with them. Alas the chances of me wearing the hallowed tweed is slim to say the least so I need to go about this lace wearing in a different manner…
I’ve come up with lace leggings, you still get the pretty femininity of lace but you can do much more with them. Wear them, if you dare, with a leotard a la Lady Gaga or if you are a more reserved disposition then wear them under your distressed denim, or with your little dress and booties for a totally on-trend Autumn 09 look.

The LA premiere of Quentin Tarantino‘s Inglourious Basterds was held last night at Graumans Chinese Theatre. The movie, in-case you haven’t heard, stars Brad Pitt who last night he attended the screening and was accompanied by Angleina Jolie. She looked fabulous in a tight-as-you-like Michael Kors leather dress, teamed with loose laid back tresses and a pair of strapy Christian Dior heels. It’s a far-cry from the tea-rose Atelier Versace dress she wore to the Cannes premiere earlier in the year and it’s a nod to a younger, more rebellious Angelina Jolie.

Of all the shoots we saw of Emma Watson on the run-up to the release of HP6 her Teen Vogue shoot was the most dramatic and awe inspiring. The combination of the shoots setting, the props – (the miniature ponies esp.) – and the amazing, eclectic styling, (Go team Teen Vogue!) came together to create an iconic spread.
So I was looking at the Topshop AW09 collections and they have pieces that look like they are straight out of the shoot! This amazing structured skirt, leopard print tights and corsage filled pic is perfect for a ‘Get the Look for Less. Vogue chose a D&G Victoriana blouse and the skirt is Erin Fetherston, Whisty’s blog went for Topshop, Accessorize, BooHoo.com, Oasis and A. Rubanesque.

The AW09 catwalks were bursting with black embellished pieces made with luxurious fabrics and sumptuous detailing. But not only do we have to wait until the end of the next month or even longer to see the full collections in-store but paying full price can be darn near impossible. So here’s the plan, it means you still get on-trend designer looks but for less!
The sales that are in full swing at the moment have a few pieces that will easily mix into the AW09 trends and what other reason do we need to bag a bargain than to know it will see us through till SS10? Also, as well as hitting the high-street for our pick of the designer sale bargains; the Internet has some mighty offers to temp us too. I had a browse in on-line today, purely research you understand, to see which pieces are available that will suit the AW09 trend and won’t cost an arm and a leg. I reckon these fantastic pieces are a total steal.

I really did not like Cheryl Cole in that McQueen dress, but enough of that. The following night she went out to eat with the husband and wore sequins better than Elton John could ever dream. She somewhat redeemed herself in my humble style opinion with this simple and understated ensemble.
The jacket is Les Chiffoniers and the trews are Alexander Wang. Continue reading ‘Cheryl got it Right the Next Night’
Ever since I saw Leighton Meester in that amazing Emilio De La Morena sheer dress on the red carpet at the MTV Movie awards I can’t get enough of the sheer stuff.
Fergie, in Alexander Wang, Megan Fox, in Herve Leroux and Blake Lively have all succumbed to the power of the mesh, in a delightful array of subtly sexy dresses and accessorising flowing locks and statement heels to add edginess to their on-trend looks.
The key to wearing sheer mesh is to make it black like these ladies, even this super feminine white Roberto Cavalli dress Blake Lively is wearing has a gorgeous black mesh in the back.
If you are going to go ripped this season, then you have to really tear it up…
A little scuff around a pocket or two just isn’t going to cut it I’m afraid, you need to rip it up like Balmain SS09 and buy jeans that have rips and scuffs along the entire leg length. The best jean shapes to go for are skinny or straight leg. To transcend the seasons try wearing lacy tights underneath the jeans so the lace will show through the rips and holes as the weather get chillier. Continue reading ‘Ripped to the Max’
Cameron Diaz flashed her pearly whites in her usual big grin as she posed for pics next to her shiny new Star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.
Wearing this pretty, girly, white lace linen dress by Oscar de la Renta, Cameron looked delighted with her new accolade. The matchy shoes and belt are a bit much but the dress is gorgeous and looks great on the star. Continue reading ‘Diaz gets Her Star in Oscar de la Renta’
