Hello,
There’s this thing that happens, when if you can play a guitar and write the odd tune, maybe sing a little, you’re cool. It’s inexplicable and some people would undoubtedly disagree; but people who like a chap with a guitar and a heartfelt song would hasten to agree. The thing with this kind of cool, there is very little that you can do wrong enough to take away that tag. Pete (or Peter as he is now referred to) Doherty has pretty much done all he can to ensure that, in fuelling enough vilification from the British Press, no one thinks he’s cool. Yet the French still seem to find him so. Or at least slick fashion brand The Kooples does.
They launched their collaboration with him March 14th. Although the brand already showed more than nod it the direction of Pete Doherty’s style previous to the collaboration, it looks like what you would expect. Classic 60′s inspired styling, slim fitting 3-piece suits, braces, the odd Trilby, and a canvas parka.

I love the stags head print shirt (sans neck tie thing) and braces always win, but those shorts? And in every shot too? Nah.

So the latest designer to collaborate with the high street department store is the ubiquitous Mr Henry Holland. (Though in all fairness he seems to have been on the down low for the last few months.).
I was pretty much ‘meh’ when I heard that Kimberley Walsh had been recruited as the face of
Last night I was at Ely Place as it played host to the official launch of the Laura Whitmore inspired collection for A|wear with bit of a good do really. The sleek Royal Hibernian Academy was the venue as Dublin’s fashion orientated crown mingled, very closely together, amongst the gorgeous clobber. Sponsored by Impulse body spray, each piece in the collection was modelled by some seriously stylish ladies including, stylist and Indo Journo, Angela Scanlon; singer (Dirty Epics) SJ Wai O’Flynn; DJ Sophie De Vere; artist, Sarah McCall; as well as models, Kate McDaid amd Niamh Clinton. See the ladies wearing the collection…
Speaking of A|wear, I’m sure you’ve probably heard at this stage but DCU graduate and MTV presenter, Laura Whitmore has become the face of the Impulse bodyspray collection for the brand. This a video of the photocall for the launch of the collection that Laura is said to have been the muse for.
The last word I ever thought I’d write in the same sentence as Chanel, was ‘ugly’, but the verdict on the new Coco Cocoon reversible bags is just that.
Hmmmm… a celebrity designing stuff, yawn? But actually if you haven’t already browsed the collection, you may be surprised to hear that Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow 1960 designs are great. The collection looks to have been inspired by a pretty eclectic range of eras and styles, from Aztecs to African Tribes and both 60′s and 70′s trends. The collection includes huge cocktail rings, chunky necklaces, studded cuffs and pretty headpieces (see below). Because the collection is so eclectically inspired, it is really versatile, you can wear it with city shorts or maxi-dresses. Rock it out with slouchy tees and ripped jeans or pretty it up with a cocktail dress for a day at the races.
