Flying the French Colours at Cannes

The red carpet was awash with red, white and blue last night at the 62nd annual film fest. The opening night saw, models and actresses turned out in their sparkling refinery proving that this red carpet was a recession-free zone.

In the red corner:

elizabeth banks and Tilda Swinton Red Cannes 2009Actresses Elizabeth Banks kept it old school Hollywood glamour in an asymmetric Armani Privé dress and Tilda Swinton wowed in a deep red Haider Ackermann outfit, straight off the catwalk.

Wowing in the white corner:

Daphne Roulier and Aishwayra rai white cannes2009Beautiful actress Aishwayra Rai stole the show in this Roberto Cavalli masterpiece with train while French TV presenter Daphne Roulier kept it sleek and classy in a white sleeveless ensemble and black trilby-style hat.

And finally in the blue corner:

Shu Qi and Alessia Piovan Blue Cannes 2009 Model Alessia Piovan wore a gorgeous Alberta Ferretti with intricate skirt detailing while Actress Shu Qi blinged out her simple but stunning turquoise Roberto Cavalli with a fierce necklace.
