Alexa Chung, Pepe SS2010 Campaign

Ah, who cares whether Alexa Chung was axed or she quit from her MTV US show ‘It’s on with Alexa Chung‘. I certainly couldn’t give two hoots. As far as the Transatlantic trendsetter is concerned, all I care about is;

1. The fact that I want that flippin’ Mulberry Alexa‘ bag more than I have ever wanted a bag before in my life; I saw it in Brown Thomas last week and could only marvel at its magnificence. Upon clutching it in my grabby mitts, the sales assistant asked me if I needed “assistance” (!) I told her, ruefully that I was only playing dress up with it…

2. She’s a bit on the skinny side since the move (please don’t lose any more dear girl); but 3. and most importantly, I love that she still manages to look so ridiculously fabulous after four years on the top of the style stakes.

Take her new ad campaign for Pepe jeans par example. These candid / behind the scenes shots (whether real or staged) show just how utterly fantastic the Chung is, especially in this first pic.

Kelly O’s Beau, Luke Worrall for New Look.

… OR… Shhhhh, nobody mention it, but he’s too pretty for this ad!

There are few and far between reasons I would post Menswear on these pages, for example, if us ladies can wear it… and erm…

Anyway, I’m posting this pic of Luke Worrall’s SS10 Menswear ad campaign for New Look because Kelly Osbourne is fab and because he just looks soooo darn pretty. I mean, clothes? What clothes?

Jagger turns 18 Today.

Georgia May Jagger naturally. As a little ode to her coming of age I’m posting a couple of pics from her SS10 Versace ad campaign. I must admit, I was surprised to hear that Sir Mick’s daughter was only born in , gasp, 1992…. Oh good Lord I’m old!  Even so, 2009 was a huge year for her, (see below) the end of the year even saw her awarded the B.F.C. Model of the year accolade.

Anyway, to make matters even harder for us mere regular type people to deal with – because being 18; having an utterly down-to-earth supermodel-type mother in Jerry Hall and a rock GOD for a father; getting a UK Vogue cover; and nabbing campaigns for Rimmel and Hudson Jeans, just isn’t enough- she looks absolutely H-amazing in these Versace SS10 Ads. Though the bags, on the main part, (the purple aligaitor esp.) entice me, the dresses, colours, prints and cuts make me desperate to have every one. (This yellow one looked incredible on the catwalk). I think Georgia May has definitely been styled to look a bit, Brigitte Bardot but pulls it off in a completely contemporary way. So, enjoy, if you will… enviously or otherwise.

SS10 Ad Campaigns: Something Different

After seeing Lara Stone grab the Louis Vuitton SS10 ad campaign reins from Madge, (she’s all D&G this season) I think we were right to hope there’ll be few more treats in store. I’ve perused a couple of ads this week namely the Burberry Prorsum and edc / Esprit SS10 ads. When I first saw Burberry’s, I swooned at how utterly perfect Emma Watson is for the brand just as much as I swooned at the pieces she is wearing. (Still cannot bring myself to yearn for a Burberry-check bag though…). Because I had seen the collection – LFW belonged to Burberry Prorsum – and Emma Watson in Burberry so much already, as much as I do love them I wasn’t completely blown away by the ads. But I mean who doesn’t love a Mario Testino shoot? What’s more, Christopher Bailey played a part on this one too. But I was delighted to hear that Alex Watson, Emma’s brother was in the ads with her. Because her look is so perfect for the brand, opting to include her brother in their ads is just a great choice, plus, it really is too cute!

This last pic is Emma Watson in a H-amazing mac with model Max Hurd.

I have a teeny tiny issue with the second ad campaign however. Julia Restoin Roitfeld and Daisy Lowe for Esprit… hmmm. I think Esprit must be absolutely huge in Continental Europe, its casual range reminds me of yoga obsessed swedish nannies or Spanish exchange students. This is of course no bad thing, just because I’m a total aerobics dodger, it doesn’t mean I hate on those who aren’t! The thing is, when I look in the window at Esprit I would never associate their clothes with either of these two young women. So I’m just hoping that Esprit have created a harder or edgier collection to suit the choice of ‘faces’ they have chosen for their SS10 ad campaigns. Otherwise I just don’t get it, I’ll have to actually go in and have a look at what they have then… oh wait now….. ah right, yeah I get it now.

Score Esprit. I guess I won’t be the only one curious to see what you have to offer that appeals to these two chicas. Hmmm, if I wanted to revamp the image of my casual wear brand I’d go with them too. Especially as Daisy and her fella look gorgeous in edc and Julia looks stunning in Esprit.

Contender for Model of the Year 2009. #2 Lara Stone

Every time I go to the dentist, they always say, ‘You really need to fix that gap of yours.’ I’m like, ‘My gap is paying your dentist bills.’”  And so was the word of Lara Stone, talking to i-D Magazine, in November last year. So I have continued my model of the year blogging, and this German / Dutch / British lady is next on the list. French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld said about her. “Sometimes a girl just touches you” and following her campaigns with Chloe, DKNY, Givenchy, H&M, Jil Sander , Max Mara, Belstaff, Jean Paul Gaultier, Nicole Farhi and Louis Vuitton SS10, it seems many others would agree.

Lara Stone was named by UK Vogue as model of the year in their December 09 issue, of which she was the cover star. She a features in a story / shoot in their Jan 2010 issue which hit stands last week. She is highly coveted by magazine and fashion houses alike and has an edginess that few of her peers can offer. Indeed, there are very few women in the world that can make a Page 3 shoot, high fashion, see images from ID December 09 (below). A massive favourite of the magazine, she not only featured on their Nov 08 cover, but is also one of the 3 cover stars for the December 09 issue. In February this year Vogue Paris dedicated itself to Lara and featured her as the issue’s cover star and sole model promoting Carine Roitfeld to make the above statement. Her gap-tooth smile, razor-sharp cheek bones, smouldering pout and killer figure make her as commercial as she is high-fashion, here’s why.

Dame Vivienne Westwood on Jonathan Ross

vivienne westwood pamela anderson 2009 lo-res

The amazing and awe-inspiring Dame Vivienne Westwood grace the plush leather sofa on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross last night. She chatted a little about her lifestyle, her designer husband, the fact that she never watched TV and her recent collaboration with Pamela Anderson which saw the sex-bomb actress strut her way in Westwood creations both in the ad campaign and on the catwalk. Dame Westwood also commented on why she thought was that the only stylish people she usually sees are 70-year old women and she also spoke about creating your own fashion from whatever is to hand; table cloths and curtains mainly! Genius.

The real reason she was on the show was to chat about global warming which she did in the middle of the interview; who says fashion has no soul? The incredible woman has more than enough for everyone.

Vivienne Westwood’s collections are available to buy on-line with delivery to Ireland within 1-2 days at Net-a-Porter

Sneek Peek Lily Allen for Chanel Shoot

Some girls have all the luck, huh? Head to toe in Chanel and a tiara to top it off!

Preview Lily Allen Chanel Shoot

Chanel posted this behind the scenes pic of Ms Allen on her photo shoot as the “Face of Chanel campaign for the launch of the new handbag line”. The bag line, Chanel Coco Cocoon is due to be released in October.

I love the tiara that Lily’s wearing but it is outshone by the huge smile she has for the person, who I presume is Karl Lagerfeld, in front of her. So cute.

More Emma Watson Style

Talk about grown up, Miss Watson has just been photographed by none other than Mario Testino for Burberry’s AW09/10 collection ad campaign.

Emma Watson Burberry AW09 1

Christopher Bailey Creative Director of Burberry said of their new muse, “Having known and admired the lovely Emma Watson for quite some time, she was the obvious choice for this campaign, who, like the images she fronts, has a classic beauty, a great character and a modern edge. Emma’s charm, intellect and brilliant sense of fun made the whole shoot feel like a picnic on the Thames”. More Pics Continue reading ‘More Emma Watson Style’

Scarlett Johansson is the new face of Moet & Chandon

Moët is the very first champagne house to introduce a Hollywood celebrity ambassador as the face of the world’s most loved champagne. Last night in London they hosted “Tribute to Cinema” Gala the theme of which in fused every detail of the evening.

But check out at Scarlett’s two different looks, she has mixed up her trademark über blonde locks and slick red lips combo; for the pool shoot she stayed blonde but incorporated a stunning ‘natural’ make-up look. While on the red carpet last night her trademark red lips were in full bloom but her locks are a dark shade of luscious chestnut. LOVE LOVE LOVE both the dresses though. The one from the photo shoot by the pool looks amazing against her perfect skin! The black lace dress from the launch is vintage Givenchy and check out those nude satin Louboutin’s, so on-trend!

Moët’s advertising campaign starring Scarlett Johansson,  was shot by renowned photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott and will be launched internationally this April.
